Hi there, I'm Liz Henderson
Hi, I’m Liz Henderson, the Head of Web Development at Wunder Werkz. With a background in advertising and almost a decade of experience in the development world I consider myself the missing link between vision and execution. Over my career I continue to perfect strategies and systems to bring my client’s objectives to life through a researched-based process that produces results.
At the end of the day I’m a problem solver and I love puzzling things out. As a developer at Cirro, a dev shop based in Denver, I managed and led multi-year long software projects, implementing agile processes and managing client expectations; I conceived and implemented business processes that helped to streamline work and increase productivity and I brought in new business facilitating and growing relationships for the company.
After Cirro, I moved to the startup world, working at Brandfolder – a data-asset management platform used by brands the world over to store, manipulate and distribute brand assets. I was initially hired as a Senior Developer to spear-headed complex efforts to restructure the software’s existing codebase. The success of this project resulted in the improvement of productivity for the development team and improved performance for the users. I became the Head of Front End Development a role in which ideated, designed, architected and built proprietary applications including a microsite tool that allowed users to use the Brandfolder system as a CMS system to build one-off websites for their brands and analytics platform that gave users easy-to-digest and discover insights into how their assets were being used and by whom. I then advanced to become the Technical Product Manager, where I helped strategize overall product improvements, roadmapping the products future and helping to ideate and implement IP for the company.
At Wunder Werkz I continue to help clients get the best ROI on their web presences by delivering strategized solutions that are both effective and memorable. Here I lead the bidding, design, building and architecture of all of our web-based projects, while managing clients, expectations and outcomes.
Outside of the office I volunteer my knowledge where I can, leading a Javascript meetup for Women Who Code and previously volunteering for Girls Who Code through the Denver Public Library. I was one of the founders of the Ember.js meetup in Denver where I have been a speaker, I have spoken at various meetups and most recently gave a talk at DVLP DNVR - a Denver-based developers conference.
Here I am giving a talk (as you can see I like to stay hydrated)
Just the facts
- I live in Denver, CO with my husband Jon, son Bowie and dog Blondie. Together we make a travel zine together called Waves (although Bowie and Blondie don’t contribute much). When I’m not traveling, running, crafting or coding, I love to listen to true crime podcasts.
- Here are some other things I like - science fiction, javascript frameworks, Roz Chast cartoons, mezcal, make believe and outrageous fashion.
